Stripe does run authentication when you attach a payment method to a customer which might create an underlying $0/$1 charge.

No worries. Yes I was just asking if you had any pointers on how to handle this 402 error ? As there is no PaymentIntent involved, how do I then trigger an authentication flow ?

Can you provide more info on how you're tokenizing these payment methods before attaching them?

Not aware of any changes, no. Do you use Stripe radar?
It is possible that someone on your team enabled some radar rule affecting this.
