We are testing reporting so we need to use like for like transactions (from our test application) to our connect accounts. Is there a method to add balance to the Platform account in test mode at all?

I'm afraid I don't have necessary expertise with adding balance in the account. Can I suggest to write into our Support https://support.stripe.com/contact to check with them?

For your reference. I think your document did in fact help. I was able to process a manual payment using a test card to top up the platform account balance.
