Pricing model:
Plan A - $3/user/month
Plan B - $7/user/month
The customer was initially on Plan A with 3 users so the invoice amount was at $9.
When I changed the subscription item's price to Plan B, that invoice amount is now at $21.
Hey there, can you share the test subscription you're working with and where you're seeing an unexpected amount?

As I have mentioned, the next invoice total changes based on the new price.
It's like the previous price is just disregarded.
Ok looking at this with a colleague
Thanks. But thinking about it, maybe I need to add another subscription item instead of replacing the existing one. Then I'll use the new subscription item id for usage reporting.
Ok, confirmed this is expected, metered billing flat fees are not prorated because they are billed at the end of the period
Yes, you can do that to track the changing metered billing portion. A new item with new usage at the new rate, then delete the old item at the end of the period
