You may want to look into Subscription Schedules. That's likely the best route for this setup: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/subscription-schedules

You would define 2 phases: 1) for the 3 months of paid billing cycles, and 2) for the remainder of the year where they are not charged
