Hi there 👋 let's start here:

Ex: for subcription for the month of October, invoice should be generated on 1st of October and collection has to happen on 1st of November. This is possible in Stripe.

This isn't how our Subscriptions work, they charge for payment on the first day of the billing period. In the scenario you provided, that would be Oct 1st. If you use a metered billing structure, then your Subscriptions will charge customers at the end of the billing period instead.

Is that how you're planning to approach this?

No, Metered billing charges the customers based on their usage iirc. But in our usecase, the usage is immaterial. We have a SaaS product which has 500USD (for example) of fixed price for a month. If customers subscribe to this product, they get billed 500$ every month.

The use case I mentioned has to be honored because of our financial auditing. We can't have transactions in the middle of the month.

I was reading about backdated subscriptions which helps in billing the customer for the period that has already elapsed. So, with this setting, for the above scenario i mentioned, i can create the subscription on 1st of november instead of 15th of October. While creating, need to provide backdate_start_date as 15th of October which takes into consideration entire 45 days I presume. Is this the right understanding?
