Hello ๐
No, account links don't support that. Oauth would be the only flow that can support it.
do people usually do that? We are building an ecommerce platform
or is it typical to require a new account?
"OAuth is not recommended for new Connect platforms. We recommend using Connect Onboarding for Standard accounts instead." https://stripe.com/docs/connect/oauth-standard-accounts
My understanding is that if the connected account uses the same email in the onboarding steps as their existing account and the connected account isn't controlled by the platform that created it, then they should be able to see an option to link the existing account with your platform.
I am not 100% certain about this though
This doc also suggests to use Oauth instead

I tried using the same email but it led to me creating a new stripe account under the same stripe login
Yea half the pages say use oauth and half of them say use account link. I might just require a new stripe account and have them use account link since it's simpler
yeah that's what I'd recommend as well
Some of the oauth pages have certain flows being deprecated as well so I'd rather avoid the whole thing getting dumped
unless your usecase strictly relies on having an existing account
It doesn't we can force them to make a new one
Gotcha ๐
