Got it, you can apply a coupon to susbcription for the peroid that you want to give discounts https://stripe.com/docs/billing/subscriptions/coupons

what is the advantage of using the free_trial_period if I can already achieve that by giving a 100% discount coupon for a specified time? Just tyring to understand as I will need both use-cases so wondering why not do it both with the approach of using the coupons

My personal opinion: using trial is much easier than coupons, you don't need to create a coupon upfront, you just need to specify how long the trial should be when creating a subscription
