There is nothing stopping you from making Direct payments on your own account instead of going through Connect Accounts. Have you tried?

Hey, thanks for taking the time to respond, I have made many directs payments, but I'm unable to select paypal as a payment method for those payments

I'm not interested in using Paypal for connect and only want to use it for direct purchases from my customers

Looking at the message it appears that isn't available for your account currently.

If you would like to better understand why and if there is something you can do to change that, I would recommend writing in to Support https://support.stripe.com/contact

They know more about account configuration stuff than we do here.

I see, I have contacted them already but they haven't gotten back to me yet and was just wondering if there could be a way to switch back to a direct account

No problem, although it would be nice to still be able to use paypal for direct purchases while not allowing it for connect, it would help a lot
