But if they're on session, why not indicate that?
If 3ds is required, they should be able to handle that
The main reason is that we do not currently have handling for 3ds and other next_actions in our application, because we've been using the hosted Stripe checkout page for manual payments up until this point. It will just take longer to implement, and I was wondering if it's acceptable to use off_session until we are able to build out the handling for on_session next actions

But there's still a chance those payments will require 3ds as well
It's always up to the bank, so you should have a flow in place to handle it
Ok -- I understand it's not the best solution, I was mostly trying to understand if it is against terms of service. We still plan to build out the handling for on_session flows, it's more a question of if we can quickly get this supported.
