yea I was hoping to get some quick help via chat or a phone number or something it's just weird that what the screen says stripe is doing, isn't actually what's being done

Gotcha no that's alright. Recommend you ask our support team. Tax laws/regulations could also be a factor here for the product type, etc. Tax is pretty complicated and we just generally help developers with the api in here. How tax is calculated is something folks from support should be able to help with

If you're logged into your account you can request a call here: https://support.stripe.com/contact

But you won't get a tax expert on the phone. They'll need to escalate your request in an email ticket anyway

but that's helpful information thank you so much! I was debating just manually adding all the tax rates for each province but I don't think that'll make a difference because in the payment and product configuration I don't see where to toggle those tax rates anyway
