Hi ๐
No, the payment method isn't valid so it isn't stored.
And there's no way to by pass that or override it?
No I don't think so
A previous dev on the channel told me that I could ask for the auth on setupIntents to be removed from our account. Is that true and if so how do I do it? I reached out to customer support chat and they didn't know what the heck I was talking about.
I'm not sure what you mean by the auth on your account.
So turn off the Stripe authorization attempt on SetupIntents so it just doesn't happen. And we will deal with getting customers to update their card or call their bank if their payment later doesn't go through. We don't billing anything right away.
๐ hopping in here since snufkin has to head out
There isn't a way to completely turn off the authorization attempts on Setup Intents
Oh, so other person misspoke then. Ok. So what incomplete ways are there and would they suffice for our needs? hahaha
Let's back up here a minute - why do you want to continue using payment methods where setup intents failed?
To not cause the customer to have to be unable to submit our registration form.
But if the setup intent failed you shouldn't use it for payment
They might just need to contact their bank and confirm it's ok to process with that card though right?
I guess I don't fully understand why they are failing.
It's not a charge it's an auth check. So what's being checked?
it's alwasy a generic_decline
Do you have an example I can take a look at?
