Hi ๐
So the price you are applying the coupon to has an annual billing period? What do you mean "an annual subscription"?
oh sorry yeah, it has both. monthly and annual
i am applying a coupon on the customer level of 20% off for 3 months. It seems clear to me how that will behave for a monthly subscription. I think i get it for yearly, but I just want to make sure
It would appear in yearly they get 20% off and then 3 months will go by so by the time their yearly rewews, the coupon will be long gone
I think you have it right but I'm not 100% certain. I would recommend using Test Clocks to simulate the 3 months and full year going by to see how the Subscription behaves: https://stripe.com/docs/billing/testing/test-clocks
oh sweet that you have that
It's a really useful tool for testing out a bunch of different approaches to subscriptions without have to wait a year ๐
oh, so I actually just checked the subscriptions upcoming invoice, and it indicates no coupon will be applied, so I think that answers that
Interesting
Yeah so I applied a 20% 3 month coupon to the customer, set up and charged a yearly subscription (20% coupon worked), and then click the subscription and see the upcoming invoice (a year from now, so more than 3 months), will be at the full rate
