Hi there, I don't quite understand your question. Can you share with the URLs that you refer to?
should redirect automatically to https://shop.webdatatrust.com/p/login/9AQ7sXdGicpj0rm5kk
?
So your question is how to set a direct so that when your customer visit shop.webdatatrust.com, they'll be redirected to https://shop.webdatatrust.com/p/login/9AQ7sXdGicpj0rm5kk ?
Well maybe I will do it in the cloudflare, but I'm wondering if is normal when switching to cusytom domain to have a blck page and Stripe do not automatically add the redirect to the setting of the choosen domain?
I'm still struggling to understand you, can you tell me what you expeect vs what actually happened?
I'm unable to open this page
exactly
Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how this URL relates to Stripe.
why the domain we choose to use for the customer portal do not automatically redirect to the old (not custom domain (unpaid version of Stripe customer portal) ?
when you enroll in Stripe for the 10$ month plan to have a customer portal with your domain
you can assign a subdomain
so usually when you pay some portal to use a subdomain
the provider must offer a free setup to redirect to the older domain of the customer portal
the one you can see if you type:
Why Stripe do not automatically redirect the new url to the old url?
The reason to have a custom domain is because we do not want to use a longer difficult domain like this: https://shop.webdatatrust.com/p/login/9AQ7sXdGicpj0rm5kk
👋 Taking over this thread, catching up now
why the domain we choose to use for the customer portal do not automatically redirect to the old (not custom domain (unpaid version of Stripe customer portal) ?
Since the custom domain is set up, why do you want it to redirect to the default stripe domain?
is it normal for us to have to share this long url to clients? Why we set a shorter easy to remind subdomain if then is not working ?
it do not redirect to the live customer portal page
should this be automatically setup by Stripe when switching to a custom paid subdomain?
there is no notice or guide that tell us we must setup a redirect if we setup a subdomain. So I was expecting that Stripe setitup for us
Sorry, I don't get your question about short or long URL.
If custom domain isn't set up, default Stripe domain will be used to create the customer portal.
If custom domain is set up, your domain will be used in the customer portal URL
What is the issue here? Can you share the example flow you're trying to achieve?
Ok, lets say you open a Wix account and you create your website, Wix will assign you with a subdomain of Wix.com and Stripe do the same for your customer portal. But when you switch to a paid version of the website in Wix, they create a accessible URL that is easy to use and remindd. So, This is why we did it in Stripe. And we like to have it accessible. So not returning a black page. like it does right now
Hi @ornate ridge if the primary concern is the blank page, can I suggest you to reach out to the hosting provider, or the developer who developed the https://shop.webdatatrust.com/ for you?
no need. the subdomain point using a cname in cloudflare
we cancustomize as we want
this is the cname Stripe told us to set unproxy
So , we can't control your server settings. It should automatically redirect to the customer portal right? Someone at Stripe should create a redirect in your server
is out of our control
I'm still having trouble to understand your concern here. Can you tell me what makes your think this behaviour is a problem, and what's the impact?
