Are you trying to test charges or payouts? I can look in to our test account numbers

Yes

#

Thanks

#

You are testing both charges and payouts?

#

Or just one?

#

Unfortunately not finding a test account number like this for either

heady tide
#

Is there anything on the roadmap to include?

#

I can put in a feedback request for it but I'm not aware of this being on the roadmap at the moment

heady tide
#

Ok, thank you

#

Do you have any suggestions on how to test this?

👋 stepping in here as Pompey needs to step away

heady tide
#

Ok thank you

Are you testing with Connected Accounts here?

heady tide
#

Yes

#

I understand there is no test Canadian Bank Accounts with USD funds. But I was hoping you would be able to suggest a way to test?

neat pumice
#

What type of Connected Account?

heady tide
#

custom

Okay in that case you should be able to add a USD test bank account to a Canadian account just fine

#

You can do it via the Dashboard or via the API by setting currency.

#

Like in the Dashboard it should look like:

heady tide
#

I need to test a bank residing in Canada but in USD funds

neat pumice
#

Sure that's what I'm talking about

heady tide
#

The purpose of the testing is to calculate processing fees at time of checkout. Because there will be potential conversion and cross border fees

#

I want to pass the processing fee onto the customer

#

I will have to detect the country and currency of the connect account and calculate accordingly

neat pumice
#

Okay but that all has to do with the presentment currency and the amount you charge. The payout isn't involved at all here?

heady tide
#

But the transfer will have conversion fee correct?

neat pumice
#

No the conversion would happen on settlement

heady tide
#

Or does the conversion fee and cross border fee applies to the currency and location of the card and the currency and location of the platform account?

I am doing a escrow type model

You can also test this pretty quickly. But basically if you charge $100 CAD for a Canadian account that settles in USD (has only a USD bank account) then at the time of the charge it would convert from $100 CAD --> USD and the FX fee would be applied on that conversion

#

Then the amount would be in the Connected Account's balance in USD

heady tide
#

Ok sounds good

Thank you
