If you're using Custom connected accounts, the alternative is to collect onboarding information yourself and update accounts via the API: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/identity-verification-api

While this would give you more control over any onboarding forms, it will also increase the amount of developer work. We typically recommend using Hosted Onboarding so we can take care of collecting the necessary information directly.
