hey folks
Hello! Your vendors (the ones getting paid) would go through Connect onboarding.
The people paying typically do not.
Yeah, I know. But we are onboarding restaurant owners. They are already stressed, busy, and impatient. The onboarding asks pretty much everything of them. The success rate getting them to use our app will probably be low if we ask for so many details.
I really want to use Stripe here, I just wanted to know if there's a way to avoid shooting ourselves in the foot
For instance, they are asked for the last 4 of their social... you know?...
Connect onboarding is required, and the information being collected is required. It's to comply with laws, regulations, and our financial partner requirements.
ok, and to do split payments (someone buys a pizza, we send the restaurant $15, and keep $5 type of deal) - for that we need connect, right?
Yep.
cool. thanks!
There's more information here if you're curious: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/required-verification-information
What about skipping the climate contributions step. I do appreciate the gesture, but is there a way to yank it out?
by the way, the link you gave me lists many fields as required for first payment, but it won't let you complete onboarding without it
The link you sent me allows me to set my own contribution. Not remove the step from onboarding
Are you using Standard accounts?
Ah, good, can you share the link? I don't have a Climate-enabled account handy.
yes
I want to update some internal docs.
Perfect, thanks!
