Hi, placing a hold on a payment method hold those funds for you for 7 days by default. Savunf the payment method for future use, allows you to use the Payment Method later for another charge.

for the same deposit scenario, I might be able to set up a future payment then cancel it or collect it? instead of holding it?

#

so it doesn't have that 7 days limit or any fees?

That depends on how you want to set up it. There would still be fees, but again please reach out to support for fee related questions.

Thanks, first, is my understanding correct here about set up future payments, is it to collect payment later or make the payment method reusable?

oh, so it is NOT collect a payment later.... alright

#

when it says to retrieve a payment session, it gives me the impression and understanding for setting up a session, then retrieve it and collect the payment later

I'm sorry I don't really understand the vocabulary you use at all

ok, understand it now, thank you. When later 'charge them as you want', can you give me an example?

#

say if someone made damage, can the user account charge whatever they want to make up the damage, or do they need to create another checkout session, it's just the customer doesn't have to fill out the checkout details
for example, if someone rents a DVD and never returned it, can the owner put a charge on the payment method without the customer's consent?

@lament arch you can charge their saved card yes. And then the bank can decline for many reasons or approve it, and the cardholder can always dispute the payment

Got you, thanks, ok, it sounds like a mess to deal with already, I guess connect Standard account it is
btw, what power does Connect Standard account has but Express account doesn't, besides a full dashboard, that's the only thing mentioned in the doc

#

Standard account has to deal with disput, refund, can they put in extra charges too?

#

what else can Standard account do

I read this page a few times already, like I mentioned, it only provided so little

#

which I just listed

#

it doesn't give too much visibility to the power and responsibility the Standard account holder has, especially what power does Standard account have
