@broken hollow this description would never appear on an Invoice so that's mostly expected. It's more a description of the Phase itself and it's not shown to customers anywhere today. It could one day, it's just not for now

is there a field i could use that would do this? can i add additional info per line item or similar?

No there's nothing you can do to show this on an Invoice and we don't have plans to do this for now. It'd be a feature request which you can report to our support team as a potential future improvement: https://support.stripe.com/contact
