I'm a bit confused tbh
My understanding is this:
- Our platform is a US Stripe account
- We use Connect Express to connect accounts
- We collect money on their behalf and we send payouts
Yes, that's right, but the Connected accounts also are Stripe accounts, so they need to be in a country that's supported by Stripe.
but then why bother to list them as supported countries (also in preview) when they don't match here: https://stripe.com/en-es/global
Once Stripe is supported in your country, you’ll be able to accept payments from customers anywhere in the world.
Is this meant to be only for Connect Custom in case there is no match?
ie: if a country is available for cross-border payout but is not listed in the global availability, then you need to onboard them using Connect custom, otherwise express.
You mean the Supported countries in the cross-border payouts article is a superset of the https://stripe.com/en-es/global?
I don't know actually, maybe you can create an Express account in a broader set of countries. Have you tried doing this?
just now, and the list is always the same. You think I can have a better luck open a support ticket to understand this better?
We are exploring this to being able to expand our integration to countries which don't have yet a Stripe Dashboard support
Yes, I would suggest writing to support: https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true. I don't have detailed knowledge of the market availability for the products, sorry.
hey @noble finch please let me know if you have any insight on this
