@humble fable I'm sorry I don't really get what you're asking. What does "tapping into Stripe Terminal's APIs" have to do with bank account collection? I don't really understand the question
Well I've been reading about Stripe's "virtual terminals" I guess that's what they call them? And it seemed like they offered a potential way to accept ACH payments into Stripe in-person:
"Businesses can use virtual terminals to accept payments from customers via telephone, email, fax, or in person through an internet-equipped device like a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Most virtual terminals accept credit and debit cards, as well as ACH payments. Unlike in-person transactions made with a card reader, virtual terminals require the user to manually input the transaction and payment information."
yeah that isn't really a thing
where is that quote from? Feels like marketing speak but they seem to just mean our Stripe Dashboard
where you log into your Stripe account and can do things manually there
I got it from here:
https://stripe.com/resources/more/what-is-a-virtual-terminal
Then read more about it here:
https://stripe.com/terminal
yeah I'm sorry I think this is really just marketing
At the end of the day our Terminal product is for accepting in person card payments.
it doesn't do bank account or anything like that and doesn't have any plan to do that
Our Dashboard is a product you have access to for your Stripe account and you can do things manually like collect a payment, enter card details collected over the phone, etc.
Yes, true. I'm just kind of racking my brain for a way for my client to stop taking in so many paper forms that make us have to reach out to people for microdeposits and stuff.
We'll cope tho. Thanks for the clarification on stuff btw.
I you want to do ACH Debit where you debit a bank account in the US, there isn't really a way around this. Either you use FinancialConnections so that they can "log into their bank" immediately, or you have to do micro-deposits
