What kind of connect accounts are you using?

The user should be prompted to set up their login info in the onboarding process: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/standard-accounts
Once they complete onboarding they should be able to just log into the regular stripe dashboard with their email since they're standard accounts

Do you by any chance know at what instance of the creation flow this is? When I created a test account (in test mode) i was not given that option.
Perhaps might this be related to me creating an account connected to my platform in test?

It's been a while since I've run through the flow
You ran through the whole flow to connect a test standard account and weren't prompted to set email and password?

I Set the e-mail in the flow but wasn’t prompted to set a password and email for log in.
I was in test mode, went to connect then create, copy paste the link into a new window and then was in the flow where you provide details (business name, bank etc etc) but not log in details for later use

Oh maybe you don't provide password until the connect account user attempts to login for the first time
