Our use case is the customers pay the platform and the platform transfers the money to connected accounts. Is direct charges correct approach for us? or should we use the destination charges?

It sounds like you want destination charges instead. Direct charges requires the card_payments capability but the funds flow you described sounds more in line with destination charges (or separate charges & transfers), not direct charges

No, the Express dashboard does not show Invoices. I recommend you try the Express dashboard in test mode to get an idea of how it works and what information it displays.
