How are you collecting a postal code from customers?

Are you using a custom form input field or something like the Address Element?

I tested this and it's a way to validate

Gives back a theoretical invoice w/ the automatic_tax object showing the status

Ah, yep, you could do this. I wasn't aware that you were using Stripe Tax or billing
