Because you don't test in live mode. Simple. There are test cards for most scenarios for you to simulate

Well I am using test cards in the test mode and I was using my cards in the live mode. Seems fair enough to me 🤔

If you think, sure. But now your cards are likely blocked due to excessive retries (i.e. card testing)

This is why it's not encouraged, and you risk damaging your merchant profile with card networks
