Hello 👋
Reading through the message.. hang on
Yup, PaymentElement fits your usecase.
One thing I'd flag is
A customer visits our payment form. They set up a convenient option such as Google Pay or Apple Pay. (Optionally, it could be in advance of when they actually plan to pay us, and they save their method ahead of time.)
We create an invoice for a $1 charge, just to satisfy COPPA law (adult verification purposes). We charge the invoice.
I don't know about the law myself but if you use PaymentElement + SetupIntent flow then Stripe would authenticate the customer before saving the payment method. In which case you won't need to create a $1 charge separately and then refund.
Thank you for your answer!
I will be sure that our company checks with lawyers about whether we can skip the $1 charge.
Thanks!
