@dense shoal it's impossible for you as a Connect platform to operate on a connected account that is also a Connect platform. So really this flow is ~impossible to model
dunka-connect-double
I see. so there's no way for me to facilitate my customers paying out their customers via Stripe?
@green panther sorry, missed the ping
got it, re: ping. hmm ok. I thought I've seen other platforms doing this. let me talk to my team who has requested this to find out where they've seen it so I can try and figure out how they are achieving it
The only solution would be for you to own their platform account or have access to it and use their API keys basically but that gives you full access to everything
right, which is far from ideal, obviously
yeah mostly why I consider this not viable
hmm ok, that's good to know, thank you
I'll follow up if I get any additional info from my team as to where they've seen it because your assessment seems pretty solid, which is confusing
I assume this applies to "express" accounts too, right?
I'm not entirely sure how to answer this. An Express account is just a limited type of connected account, that can never be a "platform" that would have its own connected accounts
got it
and, just to cover all of my bases - if I were to set up my customer's customer as a managed account on my stripe account and then moved money from one customer account to the other, I'd be facilitating the cash and thus there are tax/regulation implications I assume?
I don't know anything about compliance/regulations unfortunately. I'd recommend discussing this with our support team instead: https://support.stripe.com/contact
