That's why -- we don't actually send the emails in test mode

Try using a customer with an email set to the exact same email as your account (dashboard login)
On the Live Mode?
We still don't send the automatic emails, but this allows you to test some flows like if 3ds is required for a renewal payment and you allow stripe to manage the recovery for that
