But generally yes it will more likely to be declined, if you didn't complete last challenge

OK thanks, nice to know. I'd also like to know if instead of letting customer completing the last challenge for that specific charge which triggered 3DS, would it also be enough to just ask customer to re-enter the card details and authenticate the card again ? (i.e: we'll recreate a new setupIntent for the card). I'm asking because it might be easier for us to implement this flow.

Yeah could be, but the customer would need to enter card detail again, vs. only to authenticate 3DS, which is hurting your service UX toward the customer
