We have a point of sale unit that is connected to an Ethernet jack and the customer would like to plug in the terminal to the unit. It just keeps asking us to find a WiFi to connect to.

The unit has 2 Ethernet ports.

Is the POS meant to be able to act as a hub like that and allow other devices to connect to the network through it?

That’s what the manufacturer told us.

So you have the dock/cradle that the reader sits in, and you're connect power and ethernet to that? Were the power and ethernet cables connected to the cradle prior to the reader being inserted into it?

The reader was in the cradle and turned off. I then plugged in power and network. The network cable goes to the pos Ethernet port for devices. When I power the reader on it just goes to the language screen and then to the connect to WiFi screen.

Hm, do you see the same behavior if you plug the reader's ethernet cable directly into your router?
