Hello! The liability depends on the type of connected account. See here for details: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/accounts
I think in most cases it would be a standard account let me read this i seem to have missed it
Looks like standard accounts are the best to use, is this correct?
The best depends on your use case.
But if you don't want to handle liability for disputes then Standard seems like the one to use, yes.
yes I don't want to deal with them period.
this is a events managment tool they will be selling tickets, access and merch to their users, we just process their payments I would much rather take the fee and have them deal with the rest
👋 stepping in as Rubeus needs to step away
Yep Standard would be the correct type for your use-case based on what you described.
thank you @lament gale and @vagrant iris ❤️
OK sorry one last small detail, this account type also allows us to set the processing fees and % for a transaction correct?
You take an application fee for your platform's cut of each transaction
The processing fee will be charged to the Connected Account since that is where you will create the Charge
See: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/direct-charges as that is the charge type you want to use.
OK
so that means any chargeback also woudl then remove that fee which is what I excected I just don't want to manage all that stuff
By "that fee" do you mean the processing fee?
yes, I mean if they charge $10, we cna say we charge 3% + 0.50 etc which it looks like is the case
whihc we would just set as teh application fee, so I think i'm clear now, sorry for the confuston
All good!
