so i created the webhook in test mode, is that the correct way to do it, or to do it in live mode, I still want to test out the webhook after a test mode checkout session

i'm not sure i understand. Do you mean you want to setup a testmode webhook to send events to a publicly accessible url?

yea so, I am now getting 500 error in my webhook

you're going to need to trace down which line in your implementation is erroring in order to figure out why you're server is returning 500

#

that's not something we can help with since 500 errors can result from almost anything
