Hi 👋 I've not seen that error message before, at what point is that code being returned to you and by what service?
When user chooses a subscription option and the google pay widget should pop up.
It kind of comes up, but stops half way with a progress wheel spinning and the error message appears, so right before confirming the payment.
What exactly do you mean by "what service", sorry?
I don't recognize that as one of our errors, so I was wondering if it was being returned to you by Google.
It very likely might be, as I said I am wondering if the issue we are having with google pay api production integration is what's causing it, but don't know how to get access to it, if all our goods are digital 😅
Hm, unfortunately I've not taken an Android app live, so I'm not exaclty sure what's going on here. Have you gone through the process described here, and had your app approved by Google?
https://stripe.com/docs/google-pay?platform=android#going-live
Well, as I mentioned "Choose the integration type Gateway when prompted, and provide screenshots of your app for review." when we asked for review Google answered with:
You are not required to submit your integration through the Google Pay & Wallet Console. You may proceed with Google Play Support. ```
As we only have digital goods, we are not sure, what to do now :/ Do you know the correct process?
I would recommend following up with Google if you believe they are incorrectly assessing your implementation and determining you're violating their policy. We won't have insight on that process.
I understand, but if Google states, that this integration is only for selling physical goods, what is an expected way for us to implement selling software-only? What should we do, from Stripe's point of view, to make that work?
If you're selling in-app features, then you should use Google's in-app purchase flow, as my understanding is that is their policy.
So would that mean we can't use Stripe and Google Pay, to sell a digital product..?
I'm a bit confused as to what exactly are our options.
You cannot use Stripe + Google Pay in scenarios where Google's policies require you to use their in-app purchase API instead.
