Hi there, subscriptoin_update means an invoice is created because an update to a susbcription. For example, change the billing interval (i.e., a monthly price to a yearly price), or the proration_behaviour is set to invoice_immediately.
These scenarios are different from invoices created because of subscription_cycle
ok, ok. But what about the subscription reason?
You mean the billing_reason ?
😳
Thanks for waiting. Discord is busy and I'm checking on this.
subscription is for old invoices where we can't tell subscription_cycle, subscription_update and subscription_threshold apart. New invoices should never set this as state.
Could you please explain what does 'old invoices' mean? Is it a previous Stripe behaviour? Or it means, that invoices in some point will be considered as old and billing reason will be set to subscription?
Yes that's the behaviour of old Stripe API.
