We have built in roles that provide limited access but I don't think it restricts them to just test mode

If you wanted to use an approach of your own, you could not allow the Developers access to your dashboard and only provide them with your Test API keys.

i see, thanks! i guess that'd be difficult for them to validate the data in stripe though. we'll consider that approach though

Well it depends.

Personally I barely use the Dashboard at all with my Test mode account. I do all my integrations using only the APIs. But that would be up to the developers and how familiar they are with our APIs
