When you say "the customer will automatically get an eamil with their subscription details" what are you referring to exactly?

When a customer successfully pays for an Invoice we will send them an Invoice receipt if you have that enabled.

But we don't send a Subscription summary email or anything like that really.

Then yes, that is sent. No you can't test it in test mode programatically. However you can view the PaymentIntent in the Dashboard and click the "Send receipt" button to send the receipt in test mode that way and see what the receipt will look like.

Well are you using the no-code Customer Portal login or do these Customers come onto your website to authenticate?

At the moment we need to provide a quick way to let them modify or add to subscriptions, before we build auth on our site, so yes the Customer Portal login no-code

And I'd probably indicate this to the Customer when they complete your Subscription flow that they can use that "button" (the link) to manage their Subscription
