Hmm so if the Invoice is already cut here for a Subscription then updating the Subscription isn't going to affect that Invoice.

It sounds to me like you need to be updating the Subscription prior to the actual renewal

You could use a Subscription Schedule for instance to schedule this update to occur when the billing period ends
