hard to say without looking at the specific example, but banks can decline any payment for any reason

the expiry date on the PM is just what the customer told you the expiry date was when they entered their details, it might not be true
I can't look at a livemode decline, that's not what this channel is for(you want https://support.stripe.com/?contact=true)

but just to make sure (since the customer does have another, actually expired pm in their account): Since I can see the (ostensibly) unexpired pm's id was used in the request / response, this definitely means that one was used, right? Or could there be a weird reason Stripe would still try to use a different, marked-as-expired method
