for backward compatibility reasons, some of our integrations might still use the old card_xxxx instead of the new pm_xxx these are interchangeable and work in identical ways

yeah I will push for re-notifying our customers to update their details regardless - even if it works, it's not an ideal state imo. thanks!

yeah I agree. some issuing banks would automatically update the card expiry dates and notify Stripe, while others wouldn't. so notifying the customer would be a more consistent way of dealing with this
