(to be clear, I'm trying to see if we can detect manually blocked cards in some way)

Um I think you can test it, no? Block a test card in Test mode and try to Charge it

#

It should be some decline message saying this is blocked

Oh, can I block any test card? Can I then unblock it?

#

i didn't want to block the test card i use..

#

which is the 4242 one

#

Ok, I just refunded a test payment with a test card and marked it as fraudulent. Then I tried another payment with the same card and it went through. So it didn't seem like I can add the test card to the blocklist.

How about using 0259 from here https://stripe.com/docs/testing#disputes

Use test cards to validate your Stripe integration without moving real money. Test a variety of international scenarios, including successful and declined payments, card errors, disputes, and bank authentication. You can also test non-card payment methods.

@cyan ice ok, i made a payment with that card, it got auto-disputed. i accepted the dispute (which i assume would confirm that the card was fraudulently used?). then i tried another payment with the card and it went through.. it seems like it's not possible to add a test card to a blocklist?

#

or flag it as fraudulent in some way that persists?

Hmm weird

@cyan ice that seemed to work, i added a basic test card's fingerprint to the "card fingerprint block list". (fyi i got a generic decline, there's no indication of fraud in the response). do you know if that's the same behavior that would happen if refunding a transaction for fraud, like the card fingerprint would get added to the block list? https://support.stripe.com/questions/block-a-specific-credit-card-from-being-accepted

Yes should be the same as fingerprint block list.
