Can I make this a feature request, then? 😄

We have these types of payment methods, where I guess we need to start listening to mandate.updated events and then send out user emails, prompt users to attach a new payment method etc., and it's difficult to know if we've got the flow correct for our subscriptions, if we have no way of testing it all in test mode.

You can listen to invoice.payment_failed for any reason an invoice payment fails. And then notify the customer to update the PM.

Also, Stripe offers this functionality out of the box, you can set it in your Dashboard.
