Can you share what subscription expiration means? A subscription doesn't expire unless it's been cancelled

let's say it doesn't get renewed. does that trigger customer.subscription.deleted event?

Stripe will automatically charge to customer's saved card for subscription renewal

When you mentioned that it doesn't get renewed, are you referring to failed payment attempt, or your system cancels the subscription?

failed payment attempt. I know there are retries, but if it can't get renewed, does the same event occur like in the scenario when you cancel it through dashboard?

In https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/billing/automatic, you can set the subscription to be cancelled if all payment method attempts failed. When this happens, customer.subscription.deleted event will be sent
