Hello! For the yearly subscription you can make a coupon for 8.33% off to discount for a month's worth of time.

#

Or you can specify a specific amount equal to a month's worth of the yearly Subscription.

yea, but then the coupon wont work on the monthly subscriptions

#

I want to make a promo code so a user can come to the site and get 1 month free of any plan

#

and thank you for your help lol

Probably best to go with the specific amount off Coupon then, if you only want a single one.

#

So if you have a $10/month situation make the Coupon $10 off, then it will work on the $10/month or $120/month Subscriptions.

damn, but then it wont work on yearly subscriptions. All software as a service sites have monthly subscriptions or yearly subscriptions. The price is always lower per month for yearly subscriptions (i.e $10 / month or $90 / year), so fixed amount wouldn't work. Is there really not a way to do basic 1 month off functionality? It just seems weird stripe would miss something so basic

Why do you want to have a single Coupon? Or are you talking about having the same user-facing Promotion Code?

promo code

#

and because our strategy now is to go into a bunch of fb groups, reddit threads, chats, platforms, etc... and say get 1 month off any package with coupon code "xxx"

I think you would need two separate ones for that, but let me confirm...

#

It's also a bit of a strange experience for the customers; the same promotion code would give them $10 off for the monthly Subscription but only $7.50 off for the yearly, which seems like the opposite of what you would want to encourage? You want more people on the yearly I assume?

thanks, appreciate that

#

Yeah, confirmed, there's no way to have a single Promotion Code that does this. You would need separate ones for the monthly and yearly Subscriptions.

#

That said, I would encourage you to rethink your approach. "I get less of a discount if I sign up for a year instead of monthly?" is not a question people generally want their customers to ask themselves. ๐Ÿ˜…

damn, ok, thanks anyway for your help. its not abnormal though. every software as a service platform generally has a 1 month free promo code.

For monthly plans in isolation, sure.

But your business, your call! ๐Ÿ™‚
