Are you accidentally normalizing the PaymentIntent ID string in some way? Are you maybe making the stripe all lowecase?

possibly, let me check. I do not even see the request in the logs in stripe dashboard though

Did you create the PaymentIntent with the Stripe-Account header? If so, then those logs would be on your connected account, not the platform account
