The PaymentMethod doesn't get automatically deleted. However, my understanding is that you might not be able to attach it to a customer after a while (to enable re-use).

Not sure unfortunately as there aren't many use-cases which rely on this.

Taking a step back, is there a specific concern you have with regards to payment methods being stored without being attached to a customer?

We are more just curious how long we could store them for without being attached to a customer and continue to reuse them.

You can't use a PaymentMethod more than once unless attached to a customer.
