There's no native way as such. It all depends on how your integration is designed and so on. It's mostly on the developers to check if the customer has an existing subscription and if so, don't allow them to sign up for a new one.

You can use PaymentMethod fingerprint to see if the PaymentMethod has been used before and for what subscription etc
