Yes by default the Subscription change will take effect immediately. You can consider

Logging your changes somewhere in your own system, then create a cron/batch to update the Subscription when the time arrives

So can I start with just a regular subscription, and then if the user makes a change, then I create a subscription schedule with that existing subscription and the necessary changes. Is the that correct sequence?
