What is 'recipient type'? If it's a standard account, then sure they can create there own Products/objects in Dashboard or via API

The question is, can a recipient type connected account create discount coupons to be redeemed at purchases to the platform?
Depends on what kind of connected accounts and payments you're doing

express of type recipient as opposed to full

so the dashboard that I see when clicking on a connected account's "view dashboard as this connected account" is not the same as the dashboard the connected account see?

Don't believe so, other than creating a test connected account and signing in yourself

And what exactly is the "view dashboard as this connected account" used for then?
Allows you as the platform to view activity on the accounts (payments, etc)
