hrm, based off a quick test - it looks like it shows the smaller picture if you collect tax automatically. If you have more than one item, it also shows the smaller picture. There's no workaround here to show the larger picture unfortunately

Id obviously hope to be able to use icons / logos as icons and product photos as heros / larger card size image.
