Hello! Can you tell me a bit more about your ideal end state for the account? You want it to still be connected but... what exactly? Also what type of connected account is it? Standard? Express? Custom?
Hi @elder shoal
- connected account is Custom type
- end state really is that transactions/payouts are disabled (as this business is no longer doing business with us)
- we still want the connected account discoverable in case we need to field any questions from the customer
we'll take care of scrubbing the PII on our side and cancelling any subscriptions
With a Custom account your platform is in complete control over what happens; all of the API requests are coming from you. You can add a control on your end to prevent API requests for that account from happening.
got it, true we can do that
You can also pause payments and/or payouts in the Dashboard: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/pausing-payments-or-payouts-on-connected-accounts
Took me forever to find that docs link, sorry. 😅
all good!
we really just want some visual cue that the business is no longer with us in Stripe, one other thing we could do is update the name to include the string [deactivated]
otherwise, there's no visual cue on the custom connected account that they're no longer active with us
