I'm sorry I don't know what TSL is and why this is done by IMAP?

Simple example: customer emails raw data and my script tokenize via Stripe server side

Ah gotcha, when you said "text message" I thought you meant SMS. You really shouldn't be asking people their card details over email

Yes

#

SMS/MMS

#

Not email transport

but then why IMAP? What does IMAP have to do with SMS? Sorry I must be missing something. But you should never ask someone to write their card numbers over email or over SMS or MMS

I use email to SMS/MMS: Example: if you send a "text message" to pancake.tittiez@gmail.com from any mobile device (ATT,VZW,TMO) it will be delivered with message content.

Try yourself from your own mobile device...

yeah okay, but overall you really should never ask card numbers that way

#

get that person on your app or website to pay instead

Ya you're right. Thanks for the input.

#

Maybe be better to have them store the card then have a text message code to confirm a purchase

There are solutions using IVR during a phone call that comes with its own set of PCI rules

but I'm fairly sure text/email is forbidden. That doesn't prevent businesses from asking users. I had a hotel recently ask for a picture of my credit card and I'm sure most customers give it to them but I said no and they said "oh sure" 😅
